"Use the knowledge you gain monitoring social media to develop new story angles and seek opportunities to add to [the] social media conversation with meaningful content - direct message them on Twitter, comment on their blog, respond to their Facebook update, etc. Become a reliable, useful source for these influencers, and they'll look to you in the future."

- Beth M. Cleveland, principal, Elm Public Relations

According to messaging experts, the average person must hear the same message six times before they believe it. With new social media tools cropping up every day it's easy to reach the same consumer six different ways. But how should companies create and manage that content? At last week's Inbound Marketing Summit in Boston, we asked social media and public relations measurement thought leaders Katie Paine, Todd Van Hoosear, and Gary Vaynerchuk (who was featured in our last video) to weigh on these questions.

Still to come: David Meerman Scott comments on the changing PR industry and Jason Falls discusses how to pitch bloggers.
